The story behind Mmmm Baths

I love spas and relaxing and I love water, especially when it’s warm or hot and when I worked in India, I had the privilege of visiting the hotel spa every night before my gigs where I would use vocal toning to relax me.

In my job, I have discovered the healing powers of my voice - I’m not talking about the joys of singing here, I’m talking about the gift of sound, waves emanating from our mouths that can bring release and relaxation and much more to our bodies.

The Mmmm bath ceremony started as a tool when I gave singing lessons, to get people relaxed, using their voices, playing with sending sound around their bodies and the room. I discovered I could intuitively guide a person to direct the sound of their voice into parts of their bodies that were feeling tense.

As I continued to learn more about sound and water, I discovered that water has a memory and a sound of its own, and different parts of our bodies have different harmonic frequencies. I started playing with the idea of using words to set intentions for the life we want to see and sending them into the water so that when we pull the plug, the water carries the memories of our visions.

I love visiting springs, it’s incredible how all the toxins in the water are filtered through this beautiful planet and turned into sweet drinking water. I have written a couple of songs about letting go of what no longer serves us and incorporated this process of letting go into the water of our baths, knowing the water will sweep away what we don’t want and the earth will filter it beautifully.

Taking a bath is often a normal cleaning activity and now I have transformed it into a ritual, it is perfect when we are at a phase of moving from one thing to something better, for example, new job, new year, relationship ending, problem we want to let go of.

Guiding the ritual on zoom solves the problem of nakedness and exposure, we do it off camera and I guide you through the various steps, it’s an “out with the old, in with the new” experience, it’s a chance to redefine what we want to see in our lives and to let go of what no longer serves us.

Alison’s bath ritual can only be described as amazing - not only do you feel like you have had a complete spa treatment ( something that I’ve deeply missed since Covid) but you get more - personal song and a ritual to support you whenever you decide to use your bath time to nurture and nourish yourself and your soul. Truly amazing. Alison has definitely changed the meaning of bath time for me.

Alison is not only an incredible singer, but an incredibly intuitive deep person. I have just spent the most delicious hour in my new bathroom, submerging myself in healing water, with supported voice work, surrounded by candles, bath scent and finishing with setting wonderful intentions and then puling the plug and literally letting anything that no longer serves me go down the plug hole! Also with the beautiful opportunity to send my essence out into the world. Check her out...…who feels they’d really benefit from some delicious guided self care, instead of what I definitely do, a quick shower and go every day with hardly time to really self nurture in the way that’s so often needed.

I approached Alison on receiving a bath ritual after it had been recommended to me by many, telling me of its amazing healing powers and of Alison’s expertise and kind nature. I had been struggling with a lot of deep and debilitating anxiety, and was finding it difficult to seek and receive support, but as soon as I approached Alison she was so kind and understanding, and I immediately felt supported and held. Alison’s warm, professional and healing nature had me at ease instantly, and it was such an enjoyable and enriching process.

While I won’t go into detail about what we discussed during the ritual, I can honestly say I emerged from the ritual as a positively transformed and empowered women. My bath is now my haven and I employ Alison’s methods and rituals on a regular basis.

It is hard to adequately describe how truly amazing the bath ritual is but the words that come to mind are; healing, nurturing, invigorating, transformational and empowering. It really is an experience of a life time.

I have recommended Alison and the bath ritual to at least ten friends, it is an experience that I will most definitely repeat often.
